Pet Food Depot

I called in to check the pricing on the Victor grain- free Yukon river canine 30lbs bag of dog food to see if it was cheaper than where I usually go ( tractor supply or The Western Ranchman I pay $65.95) and the girl on the phone said yes that they had it for $40 a bag .. I was shocked 😳 with the price since the cheapest I’ve ever found it was $55 when on special. SO I asked very kindly if she could please double check since I was going to drive about 45 min out .. the girl checked and said yes it was 40$ so I asked if it was for the 30lbs bag and she said yes .. I asked if she could make sure and as she walked away you could hear 👂 her say “Oh my Gosh how annoying” .. she came back and said yes all the 30lbs bags are $40 .. so for the 20$ price difference I was willing to try a different store other than tractor supply or the western ranchman .. NOT to my surprise when I got to the Pet Food Depot I found out that the 15lbs bag was $40.99 and the 30lbs bag of grain free kibble was $75.99. I was pretty upset since had asked 3 TIMES for the young lady verify the price so I asked to speak to the manager at the time to give them a chance to correct their employees wrongdoing. Well the manager said sorry I can’t do anything but give you a 10% discount which to me did no suffice the drive and bad service I had encountered. I asked if they could please honor the price that the employee stated to me over the phone 3 TIMES and he said “ you know I can’t do that”. I no longer will be shopping here A. Because I’ve realized that they are over priced compared to The Western Ranchman Store down the road and B. Because this is not the only time I’ve been treated unfairly at Pet Food Depot .. so long story short I drove literally Down the road a mile to the Western Ranchman Store and got my hungry puppies Kibble for $11 dollars cheaper and they were even running a promo where if you bought a bag of Victor kibble you also got a free Victor crunchy treats 14oz bag .. Pet Food Depot lost me as a customer today when I went in with questions regarding food for my dog and no one knew what they were talking about. Everyone seemed too busy making sure their job as store associates were more important then a customer that has been coming to this store loyally for a year since I moved here. I wanted Pet Depot to be that neighborhood store that worked closely with vendors and truly care about animals and the products they carry. It seems it’s just another Petsmart. They carry way too many things always things on clearance the store at this location hence all the junk bakery food they buy in bulk and then sale at a ridiculous price. It is also extremely dusty not taken cared of. This is more of a FEED store. I won’t be back to any Pet Food Depot locations.

We came here for the first time to buy a specific dog food brand which they have and I appreciated this, so two stars for inventory. However the employee at the counter was so rude. I was there with a small kid and my dog and there was no offer to help when I was handling this $100 bag of dog food. Also I couldn’t find the barcode (while I was the one lifting the bag) and the employee said “it’s gotta be there somewhere.” So unhelpful. Some comments say they helped them to their car, how did they get such special treatment! Edit: I changed the review to 5 stars because the owner was extremely responsive to this post and corrected the issue immediately. Thank you. We look forward to coming back.
